Grown from rare, mid-century heirloom seeds dating back to the original Japanese imports of the 1940s. Slow-grown and a labor of love these Japanese natives grow significantly slower than most oysters (approximately 3-5 years!), but some things in life are worth the wait, and Kumos are one of them!

Product was fresh and very tasty. Made for angreat dinner party. Only had one oyster that was completely open upon delivery. But when your dealing with live food. Some just cant make the flight! Will be ordering again for sure!
I was nervous when these first arrived because they had an off smell. I washed them straight away and got 'em stored but could still smell it. Eventually i singled out three or four that had the strongest smell and they ended up being empty/muddy inside, one of which had a wormy parasite guy who had i suppose eaten them. However, once i figured that out and got the bad ones out, the rest were totally awesome. Ate them raw, both family and friends were loving 'em. Got a lot of compliments on bringing oysters to the late-summer parties. The kumamotos seem small when you see the shell, but they pack a lot of flavor and are one of my favorite oyster varieties. Thumbs up.
What a treat! These oysters were succulent, sweet and so fresh. (Great packaging) We placed the order late Wednesday and they arrived Friday afternoon...in plenty of time for our celebration dinner that evening. We are looking forward to our next feast!
