Known for their firm, full meats and unique synthesis of brine and sweetness, our Totten Inlet Virginicas are regarded as some of the finest oysters around. Virginicas were originally found only on the reefs of the Atlantic Coast, at depths of 8-25 feet, before being introduced to the Pacific Coast in the 1890s. Notoriously finicky in our waters, they only thrive on the beaches of Totten Inlet where the algae-rich waters from neighboring Little Skookum inlet mix with the deeper waters of Puget Sound allowing these oysters to develop their distinct and sought-after flavor profile.
Awarded Best Flavor at the East Coast Shellfish Growers Association competition, our Totten Inlet Virginica oysters are celebrated for their exceptional taste.

These are simply the best. We anxiously await their arrival every year. We have loyal fans of Taylor Shellfish for years, as they have carefully shipped, not only to Seattle, but also to Montana and now Scottsdale Arizona.
Simply Awesome
These are a must try for anyone with a taste for a great oyster! We thoroughly enjoyed these along with the Sumo Kumo, and honestly, I like the Virginia’s better. This isn’t my first order from Taylor, they’ve always delivered a quality product, on time, every time.
