Kumamoto Oysters (30 pcs)

Description

Prized for their sweet honeydew like meat brimming with sweet liquor, Kumos are loved for their clean and fruity aromas.

Grown from rare, mid-century heirloom seeds dating back to the original Japanese imports of the 1940s. Slow-grown and a labor of love these Japanese natives grow significantly slower than most oysters (approximately 3-5 years!), but some things in life are worth the wait, and Kumos are one of them!

Petite but deeply satisfying, these oysters measure approximately 1-2 inches and offer a consistently delicious oyster on the half shell.

Quantity: 30 count
Flavor Profile: Bright, sweet flavors with a cucumber finish.
Size: Approximately 1 - 2 inch shell

A successful shot in the dark

We’re oyster lovers living in the semi-isolated agricultural area named Hollister (CA). Missing some of the food we’ve enjoyed in the “city” I found Taylor farms online. I plunked down the money and ordered 60. Long story short. A fresh mignonette sauce, a bottle of champagne and these oysters made a superb afternoon. Highly, highly recommended.

Best in SLO County

Then best oysters in all San Luis Obispo County, California are the Kumamoto oysters at MY HOUSE... shipped in from Taylor Shellfish Farms.

Perfection

Since moving to Virginia from California, we have been blasted with East Coast shellfish. While there are great specimens available, it was on a recent trip to NYC where we found Kumamotos at the raw bar. A few searches later and Taylor Shellfish was delivering these to our door step. There is nothing quite as refreshing as a Kumamoto especially one 24hrs removed from the Ocean. These were phenomenal.
