They are grown from mid-century, heirloom seeds rarely found outside of Chapman’s Cove, WA. Their pure genetic line dates to the original Japanese imports from the late 1940s.
We farm the only purebred Kumos available. They are a gentle, fulfilling oyster with remarkably consistent growth patterns.
Their salted honeydew meat fills up deep cupped shells, brimming with sweet liquor. Many people’s favorite oyster!
