    Top off Oysters are Wonderful

    Although there are plenty of restaurants serving locally grown oysters in Newport, RI where I live, and although fish markets do sell them as well, no one that I found could sell me frozen oysters which I could keep in my freezer ready to go. While glued to my PC and the Internet recently I discovered TAYLOR SHELLFISH FARMS. What attracted me to their products especially was the availability of TOP OFF oysters, flash frozen, and ready to go. My order of 30 oysters and a container of shucked oyster meat was shipped overnight by Fed Ex and arrived colder-than-cold frozen in dry ice. Last night I baked 8 of them topped with small-sized breadcrumbs combined with parmesan cheese, parsley, chopped (slightly sautéed) shallots, ground pepper and a small dollop of butter on top. I purposely went light on the butter to keep them a bit healthier than some recipes I have seen online(some calling for a whole stick of butter for about the same number of oysters), and they were wonderfully flavorful just the same. And, given the importance of zinc to our immune system health especially during flu season and the vicious pandemic, and that a Google search told me that 6 oysters can provide 36mg or 327% of the recommended DV—the highest source of zinc in food--, eating them, for me, is a no brainer! As for my shucked oysters, I plan on having them over pasta with garlic and olive oil this week.

    Frozen Top Off Oysters

    Living in the High Country of Colorado we don't have the luxury of fresh seafood very often. Recently, for a close friend's birthday party, we decided to do a seafood dinner. I ordered 60 frozen top off oysters and I have to say, I could not be happier! They were delivered on time exactly as promised. (A good thing because we had no back up plan!) But the best thing was how much they exceeded my expectations. I was not expecting them to be bad by any stretch, but I was amazed at the quality of the oysters. The were excellent in everyway, plump and juicy, with great texture and flavor. I have to say they were as good as any oysters I have ever had anywhere on the coast and better than many. Not only were the oysters excellent, but the people at Taylor Shellfish were a delight to deal with. I had a very minor problem with my order (a wrong canned item was shipped) and they took care of it immediately and with some of the most pleasant customer service I have ever experienced.

    Frozen top off oysters.

    Just got these Saturday. Havent had time to try them yet. I am commenting because my order was late and I was afraid my oysters would have thawed but they didn't ! I'm a happy camper.

    Best way to grill oysters

    I am in Alabama and this is the second time in a couple of weeks that I have ordered there frozen oysters. They arrive overnight completely frozen. Pop them on the grill and you have almost instant deliciousness! Great customer service and a wonderful product. Highly recommended!

    Frozen top off oysters, the easiest way to make baked oysters for a lot of people. The oysters are selected and clean so quality is pretty hight and consistent.

    Fresh and beautiful open-shell oysters

    My 30 oysters arrived by FedEx in 2 days and cold in dry ice. I froze them to use as needed. Just put the desired number in the fridge and they’re ready to serve in 4-8 hours. They’re fresh and beautiful open-shell oysters like served in high end restaurants.

    Frozen Top Off Oysters

    If you are an oyster lover, stuck in the Midwest, these are a miracle product! Out of the freezer , into the oven for baked or broiled recipes; out of the freezer, into the refrigerator for delightful raw preparation the next day! Seriously, the quality of these oysters cannot be denied, no matter where you live! Who ever thought of oysters as a convenience product!
