This is not absolutely necessary, but ... Its great!! Looks good. Angles the Oyster perfectly. Holds the Oyster well. Protects your hand from slips. Acts as a support, during the twist and lever step. So I will add this to my travel and shuck pack, along with my favorite knife, gloves, and towel.
Easier and safer to use than holding the oyster in your hand, I recommend the block for shucking. Thanks for making this tool available.
