Totten Inlet Virginica Oysters (30 pcs)

Description

East meets West in the best possible way.

Known for their firm, full meats and unique synthesis of brine and sweetness, our Totten Inlet Virginicas are regarded as some of the finest oysters around. Virginicas were originally found only on the reefs of the Atlantic Coast, at depths of 8-25 feet, before being introduced to the Pacific Coast in the 1890s. Notoriously finicky in our waters, they only thrive on the beaches of Totten Inlet where the algae-rich waters from neighboring Little Skookum inlet mix with the deeper waters of Puget Sound allowing these oysters to develop their distinct and sought-after flavor profile.

Awarded Best Flavor at the East Coast Shellfish Growers Association competition, our Totten Inlet Virginica oysters are celebrated for their exceptional taste.

Quantity: 30 count
Flavor Profile: Crisp with a firm texture and heavy briny flavors, which lead to a buttery taste, with a hint of sweetness at the finish.
Size: Approximately 2-3 inch shell.

Virginicas are the best!

Have bought Virginicas from your Melrose store since it opened and from Oyster Bill Whitbeck at the Seattle farmer's markets. They are the best in the world. Learned shucking from the famous Dave Leck and now have 8-10 different knives. Keep up the g

Totten Inlet Virginica

I discovered Taylor Shellfish in 1986 when I went to the annual oyster festival in Shelton, WA. I have been ordering oysters from Taylor ever since. Of the many wonderful varieties I think my favorite oyster is the Totten Inlet Virginica. Perfect for eating or baking or frying. They also are easier to open than many other varieties. Taylor is reason enough to move to Washington. but luckily they deliver to New Yorkl.

Virginica Superb!

These oysters are delicious. They arrive extremely fresh and I ate them over two days. With the proper knife, they open easily (trust yourself), and they are delectable with just the right dose of brine. I love west coast oysters, and these are terrific!
