  • Description

Fat Bastards are our largest size of Tide Tumbled Pacific oysters. They are the big brother to our beloved Shigoku Oyster.

A lifelong pursuit perfected in 2009, the oysters are grown in spacious mesh bags, suspended 3 feet off the tidal floor.

Each bag is fixed to a float, which rolls the oysters with the ebb and flow of the tide, flipping the bag twice a day. This motion conditions the oysters to grow smooth shells with deep cups.

By floating at the top of the water column, the oysters feed on only the freshest algae, yielding a bright, savory flavor with plenty of briny liquor.

The deep shell is equally as smooth and stylish as the Shigoku, yet the larger size makes it perfect for grilling, steaming or slurping fresh from the shell.

    Quantity: 30 count
Flavor Profile: Strong brininess with a sweet finish and firm, plump texture.
    Size: approximately a 2.75 - 3.75 inch shell.

    Fat Bastards are fantastic!

First time ordering Fat Bastards and will certainly not be the last! Perfect size for serving raw, liked the briny flavor and were so very easy to shuck!

    Continued Quality!

I've ordered hundreds of these bad boys and am blown away every time they show up! I've kept them in the fridge for over 10 days before and they are still absolutely fresh and delicious! A++++ to Taylor shellfish

Great oysters, nice size and very tasty, no doubt how fresh they were. Unfortunately 4 of the 30 did not make it alive but still very happy with our order. Will order again.

Oyssters not what they once were

received 60 Oysters Friday. 4 were bad and 1 had mud inside. They came in a blue net inside a plastic bag. They used to come in a nice box with a plastic tray that made for easy serving. Not happy with this batch. May not order any more.

    Fat bastard oysters

I am a fan of oysters (fines claires in France) and I have to confess o ordered those FB oysters 3 times in less that two months, looove them! Best sea food ordered from Taylor shellfish farms. Mussels, crabs are amazing too, so fresh and wonderfully packaged!

    Totten Inlet Mussels

These were absolutely wonderful Some of the best I have ever had. All of them opened and were quickly eaten. Used a standard white wine and shallot steam bath.

    Fat Bastards

They were ocean fresh. All of them were alive and ready to eat. A little salty, but the taste was wonderful. Used quite a few for Oyster shots!
