Our family has a tradition of eating crab on Christmas Eve. We are from San Francisco but now live in Tennessee so we only eat Dungeness Crab. Dungeness is hard to find in TN so I have to have it shipped from the West Coast every year. I purchased 2 crab parts and it cost $160. The parts weee small and once’s cleaned, it ended up being about the same amount of meat from 1 crab. It was good but not worth $160.
Really great crab. We had it with cucumber and tomato. Very simple lemon butter a little bread. Now the only issue I'm having, I want more! Not only is Taylor Shellfish a great day trip, now I can enjoy their fresh seafood at home!
Although very well packaged (for shipment across country) and speedy delivery. The actual crab legs...not so much. Although OK, the crab meat was tough, dry and stringy. But...that could simply be the type of crab that I am not familiar with. Anyway, too expensive for the amount of crab meat, the texture and over all taste. Simply not for me. I'll stick with good ole Maryland Blue Crabs...boiled or steamed, they have no equal!!
