Pacific Triploid Seed

Description

Approximately 300-400 12mm seed per bag. Pacific Triploid oyster seed is sterile, so it does not spawn, making it better to consume year-round. In some areas, Triploid seed is known to have faster growth rates, but it's also has higher rates of summer mortality. It takes approximately a year, to a year and half for a mature extra small size oyster.

To find your tax parcel, you will need to browse to the county assessor website (The County where the seed will be planted). For a complete list of counties, please go to: https://dor.wa.gov/find-taxes-rates/property-tax/county-assessor-and-treasurer-websites

Once at your county assessor site, find “search my property” or “tax parcel lookup” and follow the prompts. Write down your tax parcel number and enter it into the appropriate box in our online order system.

Pacific Triploid Seed

We Have been growing a small shellfish farm on Camano Island for several years now. The Pacific Triploid is an excellent choice for our area as they grow fast, are ready to eat in one year, and are delicious! Since we have some currents in Saratoga Passage, and because these oysters are sterile and do not naturally reproduce, we grow them in bags, replenishing the supply every year. Taylor Shellfish Farms is a great resource, and the on-line ordering and Saturday pick up couldn't be easier! Thank you Taylor Family, and all of your fine employees!
